Muscatine Community College Alumni Association

Fundraising and Friendraising have been accepted as general goals of the MJC/MCC Alumni Association.

Since 2001, the Alumni Association has awarded grants to many MCC student activities. Student groups benefiting from these funds include: Business Professionals of America, Music Department, Drama Department, Peer Tutor Program, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Senate, Ag Tech Club, Nursing Program, CALUMET newspaper, Intramurals Program and Athletics. Over $81,000 has been awarded since this program began in 2001.

The Alumni Association also purchases and distributes cookies at the annual Fall Picnic for all students, and hosts the graduation reception each year.

Membership dues and proceeds from fundraising events are used to support general expenses of the association and to provide support for special projects at the MCC campus.

An alumnus is defined as someone who has successfully completed one college credit course, someone who has earned a degree or diploma from the college, or a community benefactor.

Bylaws of the Association state its purpose as follows:

"The purpose of the Association shall be to encourage and cultivate social activity and good fellowship among the alumni of Muscatine Community College, to maintain and promote the loyalty of its alumni to MCC, and to assist in the accomplishment of the college's mission, and to promote the image and stature of MCC to the campus community and throughout the campus service area."
